

Cayman Islands is located in the Caribbean Sea of the North American Continent, with a population of 49,035, making
it the 208th largest national population. Its capital and largest city George Town with a total population of 30,600. The
country encompasses 262 square kilometers making it the 205th largest country in total area. Its three islands are
bounded by the Caribbean Sea.
Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom is recognized as the Chief of State and achieves that status through heredity
and holds that position for life or abdication. She is represented by Governor Duncan Taylor. Premier McKeeva Bush
is recognized as the Head of Government and achieve that status following legislative elections, when the leader of the
majority party or coalition is appointed by the governor as Leader of Government Business. Its form of government is
a British Crown Colony and they celebrate the creation of their constitution on 1st of July 1959.
The languages commonly or officially spoken are English. It counts among its major religions United Church,
Anglican, Baptist, Church of God, other Protestant and Roman Catholic. As sources of mass communication it has 1
AM, 4 FM and 4 Television stations.
Major geographical features are The Bluff on Cayman Brac Island, its highest point at 43 meters and the Caribbean
Sea, its lowest point at 0 meters. Its principal waterway is Caribbean Sea, which measures 160 kilometers of Coastline.
Major industries providing for the bulk of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP) are tourism, banking, insurance and
finance, construction, construction materials and furniture. Its official currency is the Caymanian Dollar.
Here’s something you may not know about Cayman Islands. The name ‘Cayman’ is derived from the Carib word for
crocodile and appeared in the log of Sir Francis Drake

The Cayman Islands are one of the most beautiful Caribbean Islands chains. Its waters are very dangerous,
and are one of the places with lots of ship wrecks and, like so many other places in the Caribbean, they have
endangered species like the Ridley Sea Turtle. They even have lots and lots of iguanas. If you don't believe
me then why don't you go and see them for yourself?
