Here’s something you may not know about Netherlands Antilles. Once the center of the Caribbean slave trade, the island of
Curacao was hard hit by the abolition of slavery in 1863. Its prosperity (and that of neighboring Aruba) was restored in the
early 20th century with the construction of oil refineries to service the newly discovered Venezuelan oil fields.

Netherlands Antilles is comprised of five beautiful islands, three in the north and two in the south
Caribbean. Sint Maarten is the smallest landmass in the world shared by two countries; half by the Dutch
and half by France. They have wild donkeys all over the place! Even though all of the islands have lots of
interesting things I really recommend the Hato caves of Curacao which is open seven days a week. Hato
Caves have limestone formations, romantic pools, a waterfall, a Madonna statue and long nose fruit bats. I
really recommend Netherlands Antilles.
